Friedmans Partners with Healthy Seas to Support a More Sustainable Future
By Friedmans, 15 September 2025
At Friedmans, we believe sustainability is more than just a responsibility it is an essential part of the way we do business. That is why we are proud of our partnership with Healthy Seas, an organisation dedicated to protecting our oceans and promoting circular economy solutions.
Why Healthy Seas?
Every year, countless marine animals are endangered by discarded fishing gear, also known as ghost nets. These abandoned nets drift through the oceans, causing serious harm to marine ecosystems and biodiversity. Healthy Seas tackles this issue directly, coordinating efforts to recover these nets with the help of volunteer divers and fishing communities. Once recovered, the nets are given a new purpose. They are transformed into high-quality materials, including regenerated nylon, which can be used in textiles and other sustainable products. This closed-loop approach not only removes harmful waste from the seas but also reduces the need for virgin materials.
Our Commitment
As leaders in the textile industry, we recognise our role in shaping a more sustainable future. Partnering with Healthy Seas allows us to support tangible, positive change, reducing marine pollution while also contributing to innovative recycling initiatives.
Through this collaboration, we are reinforcing our ongoing commitment to:
• Reducing waste in the textile supply chain
• Supporting circular economy practices
• Promoting responsible and ethical production
Looking Ahead
Friedmans is dedicated to ensuring that sustainability remains at the forefront of our business. By joining forces with Healthy Seas, we hope to inspire others in the textile industry to act and work towards a cleaner, healthier planet. Together, we can protect our oceans, preserve marine life, and build a future where sustainability is standard practice. Learn more about Healthy Seas and their important work here: healthyseas.org
